Biography

As an accomplished Indian artist Kaushlendra Pratap Singh, born amidst the vibrant landscapes of Uttar Pradesh in 1987, I’ve dedicated over 15 years to exploring the world of abstract art within the realm of Indian painting. My artistic journey commenced with rigorous academic training at Allahabad University, where I successfully earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) in 2009, propelling me into the world of Indian art. Seeking to deepen my understanding and refine my craft, I pursued a Master’s degree in Fine Arts (M.F.A.) at Raja Man Singh Tomar Music and Arts University, Gwalior, in 2011, firmly establishing myself as a contemporary Indian artist.

My creative inspiration flows from a profound fascination with ancient artifacts, evoking a deep-seated yearning for the past that profoundly influences my work within the sphere of modern art. Amidst the relentless march of modernity in Indian painting, I find solace in the embrace of nostalgia, bridging the gap between traditional and contemporary Indian art. I firmly believe that exploring history is a way to understand our roots and reconnect with the essence of human existence, an essential element of my journey as an Indian artist.

My artistic process is an intricate dance between the conscious and subconscious mind, a hallmark of contemporary Indian art. I aim to unlock the depths of my thoughts, emotions, and experiences, transcending the physical realm and venturing into the ethereal, a distinctive trait of modern Indian art. This fusion of conscious and subconscious elements manifests in my artwork, imbuing it with a rich, multi-dimensional quality that encourages contemplation and introspection—a key feature of contemporary Indian painting.

Observing the ever-changing face of our world, I am acutely aware of the transient nature of existence—a theme often explored in Indian contemporary art. Through my art, I strive to capture these fleeting moments, immortalizing them on canvas. My subjects serve as vessels that encapsulate the essence of time, preserving fragments of history and breathing new life into them through abstract interpretations—a defining characteristic of my Indian contemporary art.

The enigmatic allure of caves and the architectural magnificence of ancient monuments captivate my imagination as subjects of exploration, elements that frequently feature in Indian art. Ancient caves, bearing witness to the unfathomable passage of time, whisper secrets from epochs long gone, providing rich content for my contemporary Indian art. Their geological formations, illuminated by playful dancing light, serve as metaphors for the complexity of the human psyche, a theme deeply explored in Indian contemporary painting.

Delving into the architecture of ancient monuments opens gateways to the past—a recurring motif in Indian art. These awe-inspiring structures, once bustling centers of human activity, now stand as silent witnesses to the passage of centuries. My endeavor, as an Indian artist, is to unlock their stories, employing the language of abstraction to bridge the gap between the ancient and the contemporary, a distinctive aspect of contemporary Indian art.

By gazing into the abstract forms I create, I aspire to transport my audience to a meditative realm where the boundaries between past, present, and future dissolve, leaving them immersed in a transcendent experience—a transformative feature of Indian contemporary art. Through my work, I aim to inspire reflection on the beauty and impermanence of existence and the timeless legacy of human civilization, themes deeply rooted in Indian art and culture.

In conclusion, my artistic journey has been a voyage of self-discovery and a quest to unveil the enigmatic past within the realm of Indian contemporary art. Inspired by ancient objects and driven by nostalgia, my art delves into the profound depths of consciousness, where the conscious and subconscious intertwine, a hallmark of Indian artistry. My subjects, caves, and ancient monuments, serve as conduits to channel the essence of time into the abstract realm, adding a unique dimension to contemporary Indian art. With my creations, I strive to ignite an introspective flame within the beholder, fostering a profound connection to our shared Indian artistic heritage and the eternal flow of time.
