1. Artwork Overview
Love – I is an original acrylic painting on canvas by Kattakuri Ravi, dated 2026. The work takes a square format, measuring 36 × 36 inches.
2. Composition and Visual Elements
A single female figure dominates the composition. She sits facing the viewer, with her arms drawn around her knees, pulling her legs toward her body. Her posture is closed and self-contained. The figure shows muted pinks and reds throughout. She has long dark braided hair, and both eyes are large and forward-facing — consistent with Ravi’s figurative style across the series.
A cluster of white flowers with pink centres appears along the left side of her hair and body. A smaller floral grouping sits at the lower right. In addition, the lower foreground includes a partial decorative border suggesting a tiled or patterned floor.
3. Colour, Surface and Technique
The background behind the figure is dense with thousands of small, closely packed rectangular and irregular brushmarks in varying shades of pink, red, mauve, purple, brown and earth tones. As a result, the surface behind the figure appears far more active and worked than the flat or geometric backgrounds in other works in the series.
By contrast, the figure itself follows Ravi’s characteristic flat, outlined style with controlled interior detail.

The artist titles this work Love – I, suggesting it may be the first in a sub-series. The self-embracing posture of the figure may evoke introversion or an inward emotional state.
